Your Lung Health - Our Promise

The Lung Foundation of Saskatchewan is committed to improving respiratory health in our province by supporting organizations like The Lung Association of Saskatchewan. The Foundation was created in 2002 with the specific focus of collecting and managing an endowment fund to ensure long-term funding for lung health activities in Saskatchewan.

Within every circle, whether it is a family member, friend, work colleague or a neighbour in your community, you can put a face to lung disease. That is why The Lung Foundation of Saskatchewan supports lung health services, educational programs, world-class research and advocacy on lung health issues to combat and prevent lung disease.

Thank you for visiting our website and learning how donors like you changed the face of lung disease at the turn of the 20th century when the tuberculosis epidemic was rampant in Saskatchewan and Canada. For over 100 years The Lung Association of Saskatchewan has worked together with donors and other stakeholders for the benefit of the residents of our great province. Through the Lung Foundation of Saskatchewan endowment fund we can reduce the burden of lung disease today and position ourselves to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

Your Lung Health - Our Story

history xray van

Since 1911, when the Saskatchewan Anti-Tuberculosis League was established to manage the tuberculosis epidemic, we have been dedicated to the lung health of the men, women, and children in our province and that commitment remains the same today. Ensuring that we are fiscally responsible to meet the emerging lung health needs of our residents today, tomorrow, and for the generations that follow was a legacy that began with our founders and the establishment of an endowment fund.

Prior to 2002 the Saskatchewan Lung Association managed the endowment fund. In 2002 the Saskatchewan Lung Association decided to make some major changes in order to create an organizational structure that would be better positioned to fulfill the mission of improving respiratory health in our province. The Lung Foundation of Saskatchewan was created to steward the endowment fund while the Lung Association of Saskatchewan carried on the programs and initiatives of the former Saskatchewan Lung Association.

The Lung Foundation of Saskatchewan is mandated with the specific focus of collecting and managing an endowment fund to ensure long-term funding for lung health activities in our home province.

The focus of the Lung Association of Saskatchewan is the development and delivery of lung health programs, education, research support, advocacy and general awareness of lung health issues - all of which are supported by fund raising campaigns.
